<br />
So I have set my goal to find the time, to do the things I love, that life is too short always working and cleaning and making sure that every aspect of my life is in order. Time for some things to wait, I am sure that dishwasher will wait a bit while I enjoy writing up some posts.<br />
<br />
Even though I haven't posted on here for a bit I have still been creating. Finding little pockets of time to pick up my crochet hook and put a few more stitches on a blanket. Mainly that is sitting at violin rehearsals with my son.<br />
<br />
But here are a few things I have been working on.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil1YyNjlfHUtulrCvTe226leQ6LHLBJL_te15ea5FJEwNs-LUbxSpuoQPwI80lZR937XY-mNLoUFU-RnxjGJ29amv15HlerTWRrPnsK2FhQvavrkp_RlL6q62QCG3bRPi_LlIMuF9jiU1B/s1600/Screen+Shot+2018-09-09+at+10.08.28+am.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="523" data-original-width="522" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEil1YyNjlfHUtulrCvTe226leQ6LHLBJL_te15ea5FJEwNs-LUbxSpuoQPwI80lZR937XY-mNLoUFU-RnxjGJ29amv15HlerTWRrPnsK2FhQvavrkp_RlL6q62QCG3bRPi_LlIMuF9jiU1B/s640/Screen+Shot+2018-09-09+at+10.08.28+am.png" width="636" /></a></div>
<br />
This pattern is the Rainbow Ripple Baby Blanket by Celeste Young.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I just love that hot pink colour around the edge. The yarn I used was Sheepjes and the colour is Raspberry Rocky Roads.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I also have going this gorgeous baby blanket. It is so super soft and I am loving the pattern. The patter for this one is called the Wedding Ring Blanket by Mango Mum Crochet. She has lots of gorgeous patterns.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
And I have nearly enough of these squares to start joining up to make a cute throw. This is 100% cotton. Working with cotton yarn is my favourite, I think I like how it feels while I crochet.<br />

<br />
So you can see I have still been busy making, not as much sewing as I would have liked, I haven't touched my new machine in months. But little projects that I can take along with me are keeping me sane at the moment.<br />
<br />
Hope to see you next week.<br />

I remember reading the post thinking what a great idea, there is no way I will be chosen, but I was and it was all very exciting. As there is a whole year in which you could receive your specially crafted item, I totally forgot about it in my busy life.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjijgytYAJ9GbjeIrmjpgVd052HUpJ3RgiIzmEQWzpiMoAm0ipSpzS0JY5-4b47-Y22gMriQURxwB0gLq9DUU9J4fEvMu_plKSAokSAOJ0SnVxYYIU5wUjUhkEcMAXukaOYki0Vxanfp7Fi/s1600/Screen+Shot+2016-07-02+at+9.52.32+am.png" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="377" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjijgytYAJ9GbjeIrmjpgVd052HUpJ3RgiIzmEQWzpiMoAm0ipSpzS0JY5-4b47-Y22gMriQURxwB0gLq9DUU9J4fEvMu_plKSAokSAOJ0SnVxYYIU5wUjUhkEcMAXukaOYki0Vxanfp7Fi/s640/Screen+Shot+2016-07-02+at+9.52.32+am.png" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
Then a few weeks back now a parcel arrived. The kids picked it up from the door and asking me what did you buy mum? .... more fabric? ...... then one yells out it's a swap......<br />
<br />
So I'm like what is going on. I haven't joined any swaps, I did buy some fabric but the night before and there was no way it could be at my door the next day. (Have you used Australia post) so the surprise when they finally passed over the parcel and I opened the parcel and read Fiona's card.<br />
<br />
Yes all the panic modes she went through in the card I went through.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM2cJDSGEKbFYaGTLNCh1CxizFMw5OOxxfY6-qgJVip75B-PpYHWdkVIp9yU5NY_vNu_AvGZqpu-67giJ6FOhq8sucxY193aNyYbzfNHR6sAd09WXP_i0Un7kyczwtGALgaA2jyzCJy8ps/s1600/IMG_0966+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM2cJDSGEKbFYaGTLNCh1CxizFMw5OOxxfY6-qgJVip75B-PpYHWdkVIp9yU5NY_vNu_AvGZqpu-67giJ6FOhq8sucxY193aNyYbzfNHR6sAd09WXP_i0Un7kyczwtGALgaA2jyzCJy8ps/s640/IMG_0966+2.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
Then as I continued to open the individually wrapped items the biggest smile emerged. I hadn't smiled in a few days. Fiona has no idea what a perfect timing this parcel came to remind me of all the beautiful people in my crafty world.<br />

<br />
I plan to put this to good use as soon as the school holidays are here as I plan to relax with some hand sewing and some movies.<br />
<br />
But now it's your turn. Part of the commitment is that I then pick 3 people to send something handmade to within 12 months.<br />
<br />
All you need to do is leave a comment on my blog and I will choose the first 3 people who leave a comment with either a blog address or IG name. So that I can then contact you for a postal address. This is open to any crafty person all over the globe.<br />
<br />
When you receive your gift you will need to be prepared to host your own Craft It Forward event on your blog, and send out a homemade gift to 3 people within 12 months.<br />
<br />
I am so looking forward to getting to know my 3 crafty people better and send you a little something perfect for you.<br />
<br />
Talk soon<br />

Isn't it the most adorable basket. And it is teeny tiny. I love little things; little tins, little jars, little bottles and now little fabric baskets.<br />
<br />
This one is called the The Pixie Basket and you can find the free tutorial over at <a href="http://fabricmutt.blogspot.com.au/2016/02/the-pixie-basket-tutorial.html" target="_blank">The Fabric Mutt</a> blog.<br />

I made this for as a little gift for someone. I can't say who it is yet as it is a surprise. She is one of the first people I started following over on Instagram when I joined a few years ago now. Ans a few weeks back she did something very nice for me and I just wanted to say thanks. I was thinking do I send a box of chocolates and then everyone was making these cute little baskets.... what a great ideas for a gift, and easy to put a couple of rolls of thread or something naughty like a few chocolates.<br />
<br />
Have a go at this cute pattern... it took me less that 30 minutes to make it.<br />
<br />

A simple disappearing 9 block, but depending on how you arrange the small segments you can get so many different blocks. I was looking for some fabric I could fussy cut into the squares, but then thought about keeping this quilt plain and let all the beautiful patterned fabrics steal the show.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Project 48 - Block No2</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
This whole quilt will be made with aqua orange and low volume greys. It will still look kind of scrappy as the fabrics will be a range of shades of orange and teal. But overall they are the only two colours I will be using. I totally love the orange and teal fabrics together. I go looking for it at every quilt store I go into lately.<br />

It was quite easy to make and I had super fun going through my stash of fabrics and finding all the right shade of teal/aqua I needed.<br />

Well, I did have a couple of days off work too, having been feeling the best and my migraines are coming much more regularly lately. So just a few days ordered by the Dr to get my blood pressure down and help with the migraines.<br />
<br />
So during a break in the migraine I sewed this cute little block together. Sometimes the more simple blocks are the most stunning.<br />

It is called The Splendid Sampler and it is made up 100 mystery blocks. The blog and sign up for the notifications can be found <a href="http://www.thesplendidsampler.com/" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
I couldn't wait to get started on this quilt along and Monday morning the first block release was out. I have seen so many hearts appear in my Facebook and Instagram account every one so different and stunning. Do you know there are over 14 000 people signed up to make the mystery blocks from all over the world. Wow that is a lot of people.<br />
<br />
Well I enjoyed making my first block, Block No1 - Hearts Aflutter and I'm now waiting for Friday for the next one. The blocks are released on Sunday and Thursday but because of the time difference it is Monday and Friday for us in Australia, unless you want to stay up really really late you might just get it before it turns midnight....<br />

Last week I finished and posted my last swap. And I feel great.</div>
<br />
Have you been involved in many swaps? Have you found them fun or a chore, a way to experiment, try new techniques and a way to meet new people from all over the world?<br />
<br />
The last two years I have joined a number of swaps, large ones with thousands of people involved from all over the world to some smaller local ones. At first I found them fun and a great way to meet new people and a way to try new techniques or an opportunity to try a new pattern. I loved joining stalking/researching my partner, discovering some amazing blogs and making something especially for them. It was great fun. It was all about the mini or pouch and it was fun to add a little extra something, like a chocolate, lollies or some pins.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;">#igminiswap</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Last year they seemed to be more and more swaps to join and they were getting very popular with hundreds of people joining in a matter of minutes. The more I joined, the more rules there were to follow that they started feeling like a chore, like I had homework and if I didn't do it on time I had the teacher sending me emails and messages telling me how bad I was that I didn't put a mosaic up on Instagram or didn't post at least 3 images of the item I was making with multiple hashtags. I had to make a calendar just for swaps and tick off each of the rules of the swap as I did them. One swap even required that you post the mosaic before you were even accepted into the swap. And then came the treat that if you didn't follow one of the rules exactly you got put on a black list. What!!! I thought this was supposed to be fun. Well, after a while I was no longer having fun.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">#<span style="font-size: small;">downtonswap</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
As the rules increased so did the information you had to give when joining a swap, and I really started feeling yucky about them when people started requesting what colours, what fabrics you had to use, what pattern and what to add as there extras. The extras were getting bigger and bigger and not only did you have to make the mini but then another one or two other handmade extras. The demands just got to me. I always put a couple of extras anyway, but when I was being told what to put in and whether it had to be handmade and how many, I just lost interest and the fun. And then all images of post office receipts as the post date got near. I felt like I was filling my account of mosaics and receipts.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXE5GqootJZ3GNAquibxlJS31GtOeaaRg20v3doLw2HZ757IM8VTGS83ySzZTWQK5pW3YRgAbNjjYQxj1CYKK9lI82Go5VGtEYe9Oc6lAKexfNZ_lpi-1pgon1NK6mMr9UhRj7regP6LEQ/s1600/IMG_2013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXE5GqootJZ3GNAquibxlJS31GtOeaaRg20v3doLw2HZ757IM8VTGS83ySzZTWQK5pW3YRgAbNjjYQxj1CYKK9lI82Go5VGtEYe9Oc6lAKexfNZ_lpi-1pgon1NK6mMr9UhRj7regP6LEQ/s640/IMG_2013.JPG" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">@<span style="font-size: small;">thesewingloft</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
And you know that black list I was telling you about. Yep I landed on it. Because instead of posting it by 5pm on the post due date and uploading a photo of my receipt with tracking number I posted it the next morning at 9am. Not only did she put me on the list she wrote some pretty horrible things about me on Instagram for not following the rules. After that I did join a few more but the passion was gone. So no more swaps for me. It was a great way to meet new people and I have made some great connections through the swaps, but I am sure I will be able to find other ways to connect with quilty people all over the world. Not all my swap experiences have been bad, there have been many great ones, it's just time to move on and try something new.<br />

<br />
This year I have joined a bee hive swap which I am enjoying, and some online BOM's and sew-alongs (I'll tell you more about them in my next post) and I am going to finish off some quilts I started and put aside to make time for swaps. I have set myself a little challenge to finish at least one quilt to enter into my local Springwood quilt show. Fingers crossed I finish it on time.<br />

Thats ok. Christmas holidays are not that far away. What did I just say Christmas.......<br />
<br />
It was so nice not to have anything on this weekend, no sport, music birthday parties or activities. We just stayed home. Kids watched movies, played games, chased the dog around and just hang around and ate ice cream.<br />
<br />
And I got to sew..... So it was time to do some catching up on my 1930's Farmer's Wife Blocks.<br />
<br />
I am so glad I saved this fabric for the perfect project. They are coming along so well and are so fun to fussy cut.<br />
<br />
This is Block No.14 - Betty. This may be my new favourite.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4G5rf0Fpje1hcpUpq3VB1Bhxse2oyFySBz76BGKrsIa8SDKL_MkVHca4v5x54G8TGej5h5OrWISPjf3BA1i2I4YeanSLSR8VDNcHY-ORSkBE-h4CGCbi5c04Y8YdVYvUp-KJiaB2OzOUL/s1600/IMG_5907+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Block No 14 Betty" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4G5rf0Fpje1hcpUpq3VB1Bhxse2oyFySBz76BGKrsIa8SDKL_MkVHca4v5x54G8TGej5h5OrWISPjf3BA1i2I4YeanSLSR8VDNcHY-ORSkBE-h4CGCbi5c04Y8YdVYvUp-KJiaB2OzOUL/s640/IMG_5907+2.JPG" title="1930's Farmer's Wife Block" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And it wasn't until I took the photo and posted it on Instagram that I noticed that one of the points was way out. Its all fixed now after some unpicking and sewing back together again.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhJRaFPyWQ0tr233Y27WpgpohFiGKxnudWeMt8YIhfXiwZpG-pRZDkPv7RUcBWNYjQjSO_3X1za_3qAaIzVyePeTuZqCTBUldHJbMdAHB3X10pMpurcaERkKrFnKT-G13Kr0IUWBq-3ayG/s1600/IMG_5911.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhJRaFPyWQ0tr233Y27WpgpohFiGKxnudWeMt8YIhfXiwZpG-pRZDkPv7RUcBWNYjQjSO_3X1za_3qAaIzVyePeTuZqCTBUldHJbMdAHB3X10pMpurcaERkKrFnKT-G13Kr0IUWBq-3ayG/s640/IMG_5911.JPG" title="Country Girl" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Block No. 20 Caroline was next. I didn't do any fussy cutting on this one. This will be an easy one to place either square or on point. I'm not placing all the blocks on point, I am planning on alternating them between square and on point. I'm yet to decide if I'm going to use charcoal/grey or white fabric as the sashing. Well I have some to decide.... What do you think I should use?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
And another cute one, Block No.13 Belle. I just love those girls on little bikes. This one was a little harder to put together and it's not perfect but I'm leaving it.<br />

<br />
That is all I have time for this weekend. As I look at the calendar for next week, I pout my lip... I don't think I will have time for any sewing......<br />
<br />
Happy sewing<br />

Are you starting the latest Farmer's Wife Quilt? I know I haven't finished my original Farmer's Wife, but I am hoping that following the QAL will keep me on track to get this one finished. I am following the QAL held by <a href="http://gnomeangel.com/" target="_blank">Gnomeangel</a> with links to many other blogger guests who post tips on how they have constructed the block. So there is lots of support and lots pictures and ideas to look at.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibWYgBB4nEYvULZSia_UmlzMHiUHy4BtuNgouuBG9nMmPrx-aZlgornIrXd13naZ8NQecVj25aOW_I3W1M4atW7fhxOcUTFLBbageb7T_f1iH8wYMmVo_eG4wYbrx-rloFvFnAJYrcf5zL/s1600/IMG_5746+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibWYgBB4nEYvULZSia_UmlzMHiUHy4BtuNgouuBG9nMmPrx-aZlgornIrXd13naZ8NQecVj25aOW_I3W1M4atW7fhxOcUTFLBbageb7T_f1iH8wYMmVo_eG4wYbrx-rloFvFnAJYrcf5zL/s640/IMG_5746+2.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
So week 1 saw the creation of the first 3 blocks. This week was special with 3 blocks but from next week we will be completing 2 blocks a week. So sounds pretty manageable if my days and weeks remain as planned.<br />
<br />
Block #12 Becky<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigkbHriCp48NqReo8ZKjBaIcO5AY_pdQI9fOpEKAKjU_vCqK2TJL-ySQGirm0umafScv0-_AOQ-aDoLRrT1V3MeJruLgjrOHQB8-_nw4wh-wuMsu_8sJOGqEaG2raWP74hqT2tBRjROxBV/s1600/IMG_5726+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Becky" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigkbHriCp48NqReo8ZKjBaIcO5AY_pdQI9fOpEKAKjU_vCqK2TJL-ySQGirm0umafScv0-_AOQ-aDoLRrT1V3MeJruLgjrOHQB8-_nw4wh-wuMsu_8sJOGqEaG2raWP74hqT2tBRjROxBV/s640/IMG_5726+2.JPG" title="1930's Farmer's Wife Quilt" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I was so undecided which fabric I wanted to use. I really wanted to use by 1930's fabric collection, but my Tasha Noel collection kept popping up and all the possibilities for fussy cutting. After I made the first block I knew I was on the right path. I just loved it.<br />
<br />
Block #16 Bonnie<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwXCLW3XWG-7rcKSXQ79Mo9dM4VdYFOm0-rQpSezjbKnBaDy6wAGwtpg_DtOlGJeyYXQ1YJEbWNlME5gvL_h5eMUseIlNAw7SP7DE3tCruMWsT-HZ0WJLtJ3BnJsVJmeF81Kn3-si-JiRo/s1600/IMG_5730+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="QAL Bonnie" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwXCLW3XWG-7rcKSXQ79Mo9dM4VdYFOm0-rQpSezjbKnBaDy6wAGwtpg_DtOlGJeyYXQ1YJEbWNlME5gvL_h5eMUseIlNAw7SP7DE3tCruMWsT-HZ0WJLtJ3BnJsVJmeF81Kn3-si-JiRo/s640/IMG_5730+2.JPG" title="1930's Farmer's Wife" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Then this one became my favourite block. I just love little mushrooms.<br />
<br />
Block #8 Aunt<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr7fi19ZWAxIKJUdvUVqbZJaqCsdrjKvt30S0BFxkxunTxf72Ok1-7daH3TE9erp3g_l8hs598pX_aqbh9wWLg2Yz7fA_Tx_LOPmpzE-xXUg-z1A4B2mbacEmVz-T4vqSksAj-O3obQ8d4/s1600/IMG_5744+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Aunt" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr7fi19ZWAxIKJUdvUVqbZJaqCsdrjKvt30S0BFxkxunTxf72Ok1-7daH3TE9erp3g_l8hs598pX_aqbh9wWLg2Yz7fA_Tx_LOPmpzE-xXUg-z1A4B2mbacEmVz-T4vqSksAj-O3obQ8d4/s640/IMG_5744+2.JPG" title="1930's Farmer's Wife Quilt" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And then I made this block and I found my new favourite block. I have a funny feeling I will have many favourites.<br />
<br />
Here is a little close up of this cutie.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYFAWvcL_hsSvMcgja7WFljcV9sa9dOA4PhQdaRz2a6nBc2IYDlb-dpVKi0x7taX9y1zMHLmCznquR6HmFBPU7JkgwklP1v3_mqBRRQNj8faPC70jy2otgnZ0iJdKtyRXStlaSwd1F3RXV/s1600/IMG_5751+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYFAWvcL_hsSvMcgja7WFljcV9sa9dOA4PhQdaRz2a6nBc2IYDlb-dpVKi0x7taX9y1zMHLmCznquR6HmFBPU7JkgwklP1v3_mqBRRQNj8faPC70jy2otgnZ0iJdKtyRXStlaSwd1F3RXV/s640/IMG_5751+2.JPG" title="1930's Farmer's Wife" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And this little girl is just adorable.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwLqV6pwl9ELSbFm9pHfu2D2xoVyAnDBXO0clGM2-lNzA_hIKsTlu8DOPzxaRdDVP0ft6sFhVQJ5d3DRrdUtUbKHkbs3tJC7wpBkmvf-kM6_zdHK2Fj5RXVWwYvpaoAkObKHHGXJfnLO0Q/s1600/IMG_5752+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwLqV6pwl9ELSbFm9pHfu2D2xoVyAnDBXO0clGM2-lNzA_hIKsTlu8DOPzxaRdDVP0ft6sFhVQJ5d3DRrdUtUbKHkbs3tJC7wpBkmvf-kM6_zdHK2Fj5RXVWwYvpaoAkObKHHGXJfnLO0Q/s640/IMG_5752+2.JPG" title="1930's Farmers Wife" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
There are many ways you can construct the blocks and over at gnomeangel's blog you will see links to guest bloggers that are using different techniques like EPP and hand sewing. Me, I'm using the templates from the CD supplied with the book. I find them easy to use and always get good results. It is what I am using for the original Farmer's Wife too. All my blocks finish 6.5 inches square and I have had no issues using this method. I cut out the paper templates and pin it to my fabric, rotary cut around the paper template using my ruler and sew together on my sewing machine. My advice is to check that your 1/4'' seam is correct or adjust your needle to the left or right.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnt5rY6vwufTY5Fxl1ViVMeI9p27D6aB-J50LnHkfmfwo2KzGsJ3Z4I5vhSeKvKuKlzqYaqFlXFJEL9cicxymCvcVshxDAmMMw0tIY7Z3YQbLBmaHKS70pn735DLYzn5U_XZQZpdtqsWA7/s1600/IMG_5748+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnt5rY6vwufTY5Fxl1ViVMeI9p27D6aB-J50LnHkfmfwo2KzGsJ3Z4I5vhSeKvKuKlzqYaqFlXFJEL9cicxymCvcVshxDAmMMw0tIY7Z3YQbLBmaHKS70pn735DLYzn5U_XZQZpdtqsWA7/s640/IMG_5748+2.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
So this is week 1 done and it feels good that I am not behind. But it's only week 1, lets see how next week goes back to work and all the kids activities back on.<br />
<br />
And in case you are wondering about my original Farmer's Wife quilt. I haven't forgotten about it, this has actually made me pull it back out and I even finished another block. My plan is to go back with my Friday dates with the Farmer's Wife.<br />
<br />
So if you are joining in with this fun let me know so I can come and have a look at your beautiful blocks.<br />

Who can resist a Lori Holt, Bee in my Bonnet swap.<br />
<br />
The swap is not due to post for a few more weeks, but I have started on my mini already. You're shocked too. I've started a swap with more than a few days to go.<br />
<br />
I've been collecting some Lori Holt fabric for a while, just picking up bits as I find them. Most of these I got at the Mad Quilters Show in Penrith over the last few years. I did by some online, well through Instagram from the gorgeous Clair at @clairsdestash. It was fun to get it out and look at it all.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7iYo6eXhdCVvfOLkfNrwIGARQgEWdJR8OzFAN1B3wj9Bm62-ZU2vNg8-axA8IXYGpME3IVSKZ7O21HFuk38cfNNacOBL3ALFs7sTLMHeJxJawQbplc8inopLXFlftzD2y4Oerx9oEoooq/s1600/IMG_5513.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7iYo6eXhdCVvfOLkfNrwIGARQgEWdJR8OzFAN1B3wj9Bm62-ZU2vNg8-axA8IXYGpME3IVSKZ7O21HFuk38cfNNacOBL3ALFs7sTLMHeJxJawQbplc8inopLXFlftzD2y4Oerx9oEoooq/s640/IMG_5513.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
My swap partner made a little inspiration board full of cuteness, and it included a Dresden Plate block. I have never made one and I love to try new things with each swap so the Dresden Plate it is. Once I cut up all the fabric and chained sewed them all together, it already started to look so pretty. They were like little buntings on a string.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9sY78Lu2KtaWaf2Jwybj-2xn7Cr6W8ajRrvmy6qm7BmMhGvKPtHj9AEmQwJqlgHT6RNdHLuPcevYIcJk-IDxThTJ3sQpGFCdykQWcXsgqbj0ZwChbjgfeLUWU2OS4LebhR0BjcNd51FJg/s1600/IMG_0006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9sY78Lu2KtaWaf2Jwybj-2xn7Cr6W8ajRrvmy6qm7BmMhGvKPtHj9AEmQwJqlgHT6RNdHLuPcevYIcJk-IDxThTJ3sQpGFCdykQWcXsgqbj0ZwChbjgfeLUWU2OS4LebhR0BjcNd51FJg/s640/IMG_0006.JPG" title="Dresden Plate" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I put them all together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6OWBgm8SZzaj0PgoLbVTkBeLL_UGanj6qrfucB51LhLPXpB0T74Q4auyF2KupXUqpe1f5uAfarjxDZyovtcP804qLragIDCSE4U5cZqR0QTCCYUuAHEiNpxnqDgbM5i09es2Wa3j2eMv9/s1600/IMG_0005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6OWBgm8SZzaj0PgoLbVTkBeLL_UGanj6qrfucB51LhLPXpB0T74Q4auyF2KupXUqpe1f5uAfarjxDZyovtcP804qLragIDCSE4U5cZqR0QTCCYUuAHEiNpxnqDgbM5i09es2Wa3j2eMv9/s640/IMG_0005.JPG" title="Dresden Plate Block" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Why hadn't I made one of these before?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZzquHDVq7FQumUH1Y4333B2pEcyO2u39n3uloX4qrTbqDs185V6YepRq1ls17v3lQDkuOD_5iuyP66viKbpoj4fTzv9Ai0KfrwnO37wpE7SgPxPMzcgghFzeVAOODKTV9GMuerEUGkFrD/s1600/IMG_0007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZzquHDVq7FQumUH1Y4333B2pEcyO2u39n3uloX4qrTbqDs185V6YepRq1ls17v3lQDkuOD_5iuyP66viKbpoj4fTzv9Ai0KfrwnO37wpE7SgPxPMzcgghFzeVAOODKTV9GMuerEUGkFrD/s640/IMG_0007.JPG" title="Dresden Plate" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And I couldn't believe how easy they were to make. I've attached it to a white background with a simple straight stitch around the edge.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjusiVtMG5wY2NbYUymc_YrztpZzLmnIbDAT3pb7IpGuRBELgrkU30Zn1oqihs85CqtZsFQxl-53YHs_w_8MJFrPSiRquAzAMvvRjyWmhKcYAYWdVvaE3Ex1o-ZnAS1GgGJ8eCmNniEXryb/s1600/IMG_0004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjusiVtMG5wY2NbYUymc_YrztpZzLmnIbDAT3pb7IpGuRBELgrkU30Zn1oqihs85CqtZsFQxl-53YHs_w_8MJFrPSiRquAzAMvvRjyWmhKcYAYWdVvaE3Ex1o-ZnAS1GgGJ8eCmNniEXryb/s640/IMG_0004.JPG" title="Dresden Plate Block" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And the scrappy border is coming along beautifully too and I am planning some creative quilting to make this extra special.<br />
<br />
I can't show you too much at this point, or I'll give too much away. I'll make sure I take a photo of the finished mini before I send it away. Just need to plan some little handmade gifts to go with it.<br />
<br />
Any ideas....<br />

A couple of very talented ladies over on Instagram were showing off some beautiful blocks and I just loved admiring them. The blocks were part of a quilt along. It's called the #simplesixinchsampler, if you are over on Instagram go and have a look. There are so many gorgeous blocks. Well, after a few weeks I just couldn't just look anymore I had to be part of it. <div>

The blocks are part of an App called <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/quick-easy-quilt-block-tool/id336802204?mt=8" target="_blank">Quick & Easy Quilt Block Tool</a> and is available through iTunes. It is so super easy to use and I just love that it will show you the cutting list for multiple sizes of the same block.</div>

<br /></div>
<div>
So far I have made 8 blocks out of the 40 that are part of the quilt along. What I really love about the app is that I can just take my iPad to the cutting mat to cut out my fabrics. I don't have to run back and fourth from the cutting mat to the computer or print anything out.</div>

The fabric I am using is Pedal Pushers by Lauren & Jessi Jung for Moda Fabrics. I think fabric is gorgeous. Love the red and the navy blue and lets not forget the gorgeous aqua colour and the bits of yellow fabrics just ties everything together so nicely.</div>

The block above is my favourite star so far but there are so many nice ones still to come. At this stage I am going to sash them in a dark grey. I think the blocks will just stand out beautifully against the dark sashing. I so want to start putting them together but I have a long way to go still and I want to make sure I get the balance right before I start sewing them together. </div>

It seems so long since I have written a post or even come to check my blog. It's work... It just gets in the way... doesn't it. I'm no longer a full-time stay at home mum...... I've gone back to work 5 days a fortnight, working in the local high school library and I love it. Except that it means less time in front of the sewing machine.<br />
<br />
It has taken me a few weeks to find a routine that suits the kids, hubby and me. The first week I couldn't even get dinner on the table before 8pm. But I'm planning my meals better and making things ahead of time and now that the weather has turned cold its perfect for the slow cooker to come out, so dinner is ready when I get home from work and the after school activities.<br />
<br />
I did find some time to do some sewing and 2 more Farmer's Wife Blocks.<br />

You make these beautiful things and then send them away to strangers and you don't know what you are going to get.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Well firstly the wait to see what you are going to receive is lots of fun and I always make sure I try something new, something maybe out of my comfort zone or a new technique I have been itching to try. <br />
<br />
Here is the Schnitzel & Boo swap I received last month from <a href="https://instagram.com/myprettywildlife/?modal=true" target="_blank">@myprettywildlife</a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
And here is what I sent to my partner.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I had so much fun researching (stalking) Fiona, both on her blog <a href="http://bendigolioness.blogspot.com.au/" target="_blank">Bendigo Lioness</a> and on her Instagram account. She is such a fun and creative person.<br />
<br />
I once saw this square quilting on another quilt and thought it looked great and didn't look that hard to master. A bit like making loops in Free Motion Quilting but, this corners.... and great to do on masculine quilts. So I had to try it, and it was easy to do and it come out fantastic.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj26JH_CNNrMpJP9AMEX8cjzy_x18GSTBOdeXMyZzF9DZ_CWtKZDcRtAVs4ibrPttUcXp8Qpc7DXnirUBUDKqJXKScdePzaoO700lLwUuhxCHgiKi0UIfDCmDDmfJgm9NXpYSf12YTTnRve/s1600/IMG_4327.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj26JH_CNNrMpJP9AMEX8cjzy_x18GSTBOdeXMyZzF9DZ_CWtKZDcRtAVs4ibrPttUcXp8Qpc7DXnirUBUDKqJXKScdePzaoO700lLwUuhxCHgiKi0UIfDCmDDmfJgm9NXpYSf12YTTnRve/s1600/IMG_4327.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I did have to stop my hands making loops every now and then. But it was all fun to do and good practice for when I do my sons quilt. Yes he still waiting for me to finish it. Hopefully before winter comes along. Which is just around the corner.<br />
<br />
Recently I also completed a Downton Abbey swap over on Instagram. I had seen this technique used a number of times and have never been brave enough to give it a go. Its like drawing using your sewing machine. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZaxkOa1WWB21fhZGnJ7AH9fzJxHiIA5bWKaVQ-DFoqDsTrAC30JS9t1RUnaV8cTH348np2waI1pGpRcwLiT9DcycPFJZzWiRA1HrMkam6sSPjrUEpK9toXR2NsddvcHpay8c4mAYAe2ih/s1600/IMG_4487.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZaxkOa1WWB21fhZGnJ7AH9fzJxHiIA5bWKaVQ-DFoqDsTrAC30JS9t1RUnaV8cTH348np2waI1pGpRcwLiT9DcycPFJZzWiRA1HrMkam6sSPjrUEpK9toXR2NsddvcHpay8c4mAYAe2ih/s1600/IMG_4487.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I really had lots of fun trying this out. I had a few attempts on some scraps and then it was time to try it onto the final project. It came out ok and I was happy with the final result. <br />
<br />
I made it into a cute little tea wallet.<br />
<br />

<br />
I have also enjoyed doing some foundation paper piecing lately. I have made a few little projects using this method and you can make some gorgeous intricate blocks. Taking the paper off the back at the end is sometimes tricky. You just need to be patient.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTLkMJSwsO2dnV7tEkAj0baCv7n_Wngc1HMftvR42XFTMtgUR4fwE4HHTcTBmGxkCeX6JT3HvMkCZQvVUz0buu1ZKrwICynjq5VjlWiQYrEAVZsXzkxUc8FrYLul0iuji4NWV9nkuSSR0j/s1600/IMG_4363.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTLkMJSwsO2dnV7tEkAj0baCv7n_Wngc1HMftvR42XFTMtgUR4fwE4HHTcTBmGxkCeX6JT3HvMkCZQvVUz0buu1ZKrwICynjq5VjlWiQYrEAVZsXzkxUc8FrYLul0iuji4NWV9nkuSSR0j/s1600/IMG_4363.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So if you have time to have a go at doing some swaps have a go. Its lots of fun and you can push yourself into trying something new and use fabrics you normally wouldn't.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #999999; font-size: large;">So have you participated in many swaps?</span></div>

I have been so busy lately firstly running around with Christmas and last minute shopping, I was called into work to work full time for the last three weeks of school. Then suddenly it was Christmas day visiting people and places and in no time it was New Years Day....<br />

Which this year we spent at home.... it was relaxing..... sitting on the lounge in my pj's watching the fireworks on TV.<br />
<br />
I also spent some time sewing and thinking up new projects and quilts to make this year. I also started sewing again for my <a href="http://www.madeit.com.au/Main/Store?userid=93828" target="_blank">madeit store</a>. It has felt good filling up my store again with little handmade lovelies.<br />

While sewing these cute little pouches my iron stopped working. That was a disaster, not because I had to iron clothes, I had to iron my fabric. I think I use my iron more for my craft than for ironing clothes. After a few recommendations from some IG friends I went with the Phillips and I love it.<br />

I am also bury finishing off my next swap. This one is so cute. Hazel Hedgehog, the pattern can be found <a href="http://ohfransson.bigcartel.com/product/hazel-hedgehog-ii-pdf-quilt-pattern" target="_blank">here</a> if you want to try it. It is actually quite easy, the step by step instructions are very clear and full of diagrams, so you cannot go wrong.<br />

So have your holidays been just as busy and full of sewing....<br />

Our group and the Vancouver MQG have paired up to do a swap.<br />
<br />
It was heaps of fun. My partner said she liked circles and stars. So I went in search of patterns that had circles and stars in it.<br />
<br />
I came across<a href="http://627handworks.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Block-Rockn-Week-10-Mercury.pdf" target="_blank"> this pattern</a> over at <a href="http://627handworks.com/2013/07/block-rockn-week-10-mercury/" target="_blank"> 627handworks.com</a> Its a paper pieced block, which I haven't done much of in the past.<br />
<br />
I really like all the colours she used, but my partner was pretty specific about fabrics she liked and fabric designers. Luckily I liked those fabrics too and had some in my own stash.<br />
<br />
So here is my little mug rug I made for someone in Vancouver.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8XSfxPXRZHFCHaZWvCQ_Xn9-Ds8nV7p11uakUaYfgI0a1oxRdeY8bn2roMbCXcHHNonUsIzkeSo8jVmaDpPghWNY3tXWbPT5LxVtINej6-4TUFs3rkg9zjK9WaptVgouLjYKmdMRNW0Al/s1600/IMG_3855.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GWSMQG" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8XSfxPXRZHFCHaZWvCQ_Xn9-Ds8nV7p11uakUaYfgI0a1oxRdeY8bn2roMbCXcHHNonUsIzkeSo8jVmaDpPghWNY3tXWbPT5LxVtINej6-4TUFs3rkg9zjK9WaptVgouLjYKmdMRNW0Al/s1600/IMG_3855.JPG" height="480" title="Teeny Weeny Swap" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The whole block measured 6 inches square. I reduced the pattern when I printed it out to 40% so it came out so tiny.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcT7MkiiFtOz3_pzJYli-vc6Z7iBVzsu0GnVAZh1IOF2kC5Pl_B6l1iefESHi4vzayIKkm00I-aA310F2z-7R2xHO7xGav18igU8JxeEA3WZERLtI8Aqib4SR7LL92FYpuIPbzIfqdWs90/s1600/IMG_3858.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcT7MkiiFtOz3_pzJYli-vc6Z7iBVzsu0GnVAZh1IOF2kC5Pl_B6l1iefESHi4vzayIKkm00I-aA310F2z-7R2xHO7xGav18igU8JxeEA3WZERLtI8Aqib4SR7LL92FYpuIPbzIfqdWs90/s1600/IMG_3858.JPG" height="480" title="Teeny Weeny Swap" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
At first I wasn't sure about how I was going to quilt it. I didn't want to go over the the piecing. So I did some straight stitches around the block and In The Ditch around the block and across the centre. I think it came out perfect.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLwE_M-9rPgoXq5OURJVqtLD6BFMnJ33xL6qB_Gqaf6P3xN1P4Pvp5xuc5_1Rh-HCXKAMKHpV3yzKOj6OBDSE64IoEUVFvilwqD3n1zglV6DyMWh0Y9FB_12y5m11-ApjftcqUU07_-9cA/s1600/IMG_3860.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="GWSMQG" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLwE_M-9rPgoXq5OURJVqtLD6BFMnJ33xL6qB_Gqaf6P3xN1P4Pvp5xuc5_1Rh-HCXKAMKHpV3yzKOj6OBDSE64IoEUVFvilwqD3n1zglV6DyMWh0Y9FB_12y5m11-ApjftcqUU07_-9cA/s1600/IMG_3860.JPG" height="480" title="Teeny Weeny Swap" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And here is the back.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnPkZ1Mm06vp-TAHeiDfS04W5H4OVz-svhyC76xRPeh-fCditA8WLdgox8dmJncZckgIt3yV3Z14mxMpKjZSSmdv-dHMmbIpfzLmdpZG5VIXxKlhdufOeYxf3H0hyN4d7nu7eps3wY8JVI/s1600/IMG_3863.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnPkZ1Mm06vp-TAHeiDfS04W5H4OVz-svhyC76xRPeh-fCditA8WLdgox8dmJncZckgIt3yV3Z14mxMpKjZSSmdv-dHMmbIpfzLmdpZG5VIXxKlhdufOeYxf3H0hyN4d7nu7eps3wY8JVI/s1600/IMG_3863.JPG" height="480" title="Teeny Weeny Swap" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It was so much fun at the Monday night meeting to see every one's Teeny Weeny Items. There are so many talented ladies in the group. There were a few items there that I wish I could take home with me.....<br />
<br />
So today I am starting another swap for an Instagram mini quilt swap. I better get moving its due to be mailed out in a week. Lucky it's only little.<br />
<br />
Happy sewing<br />

I just couldn't resist the cuteness. Each day or so she puts up the next block on her <a href="http://instagram.com/p/vBz7BDsM68/?modal=true" target="_blank">Instagram feed</a> and yesterday I finished the first 3 blocks. As soon as I was finished I saw she put up the next one. Some cute little mittens. So hopefully I will make them today.<br />
<br />
The blocks are from her book Quilty Fun. So you will need the book to get the patterns for the blocks.<br />

<br />
Isn't this little house just gorgeous. I had so much fun making this one and going through my fabrics looking for the right little bits to fussy cut for the door and windows.<br />

<br />
The cocoa mug is made from some fabrics I purchased years ago. Michael Miller . Every time I see it it reminds me of Christmas. This block came together really fast, and so super cute.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfD8dcdqe5FDV11xaGAISegQkIZg8rvSoVobqzbfCaFyRpiBVcQDpQCXi5GlGxF3EIW0Qd2rCeaURZBV8kB8gP6k_9Hdy0wtF_sigM2D85xy9Frt9cTuSpMStMPP3LIy-yBFNKsXE2eycc/s1600/IMG_2177.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="#haveyourselfaquiltylittlechristmas" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfD8dcdqe5FDV11xaGAISegQkIZg8rvSoVobqzbfCaFyRpiBVcQDpQCXi5GlGxF3EIW0Qd2rCeaURZBV8kB8gP6k_9Hdy0wtF_sigM2D85xy9Frt9cTuSpMStMPP3LIy-yBFNKsXE2eycc/s1600/IMG_2177.JPG" height="426" title="Christmas Cocoa Mug Quilty Fun sewalong" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And you can't have a Christmas quilt without a tree. I really like the tree and the instructions on making the tree are on her Instagram feed as it is not a block from her book.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This is my first project using my 1930's collection, which I have been collecting now for a few years, waiting for the right project. Deciding on the fabrics and the shades has been part of the fun.<br />
<br />
A few people have commented on the block so here are the instructions on how to make one....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvoTVxjMAcYZUmf9qgwdDHLJmsgNn73YCSpr1MfcFFkMY2njc2wMK_xTOPV8SBhx6FSO5wFWPQSIoD2XcM0_Jzg5n834uvBzQ6J0PPji5laK6B1h7xlO0yqRdGhROenkMBRGduoGTtAu8c/s1600/Flower+Quilt+Block+23.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvoTVxjMAcYZUmf9qgwdDHLJmsgNn73YCSpr1MfcFFkMY2njc2wMK_xTOPV8SBhx6FSO5wFWPQSIoD2XcM0_Jzg5n834uvBzQ6J0PPji5laK6B1h7xlO0yqRdGhROenkMBRGduoGTtAu8c/s1600/Flower+Quilt+Block+23.JPG" height="426" title=" 1930's flower garden quilt block tutorial" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The block is a simple 9 patch block and comes together quite easily.<br />
<br />
Here is what you will need to make one block. Each of the blocks are 15 inches finished. (15 1/2 inches raw)<br />
<br />
Using 2 yellow shades of fabrics cut (2) 3 x 3 inch squares and then cut diagonally<br />
Arrange as in the photo below and sew together, matching seams and pressing. Being careful not to stretch the fabric as all the edges are on the bias.<br />

Once you have all the pieces cut and the yellow fabrics sewn we can continue with making the 9 patches.<br />
<br />
Using the yellow square and the 4 medium shade triangles, with right sides together sew along each side matching centres. I do this by eye or you can mark the centre of each of the yellow edges and triangle edges and match them up.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
Once you have completed the 4 blocks press and put aside.<br />
<br />
You are now up to the corner blocks.<br />
<br />
Sew 4 white 3 inch squares to 4 medium shade 3 inch squares. Then sew 4 white 3 inch squares to 4 green 3 inch squares.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
and then sew together as in the configuration below. You will have 4 of these blocks.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
You now have 9 blocks completed. Cut off any stands of cotton and the little dog ears as they get in the way when sewing the blocks together.<br />
<br />
Arrange the blocks as in the photo below. Making sure all the white triangles are facing out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn8zDuLpDzMyaNNRZdaOpUfIzWn3_ZiRCVInoLI2fRCQ_mu4dEuDVCqRjW-EQnQnTvSBpsgz87so7K-AZ6gUq5KwII7tRQUQ-UWGt3RU-LoRFXYmZQaa1EJDKrKX_0PcXWQI64Di1TESBK/s1600/Flower+Quilt+Block+19.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgn8zDuLpDzMyaNNRZdaOpUfIzWn3_ZiRCVInoLI2fRCQ_mu4dEuDVCqRjW-EQnQnTvSBpsgz87so7K-AZ6gUq5KwII7tRQUQ-UWGt3RU-LoRFXYmZQaa1EJDKrKX_0PcXWQI64Di1TESBK/s1600/Flower+Quilt+Block+19.JPG" height="426" title=" 1930's flower garden quilt block tutorial" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Divide into 3 rows. Sew the blocks into rows matching the seams and points.<br />

<br />
Then sew the rows together matching seams and points.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzBBO_w6KPif91BZADKDqQVhArPX3sMdZmFY7exBodYvnacdDsioijuyiWTbgQU3bn6ZDQlh4kptEXloIPFqLHr9shgUHwfzROidROhsOV-q94Hchejwond-cO5lNJdRcY-QnNonkbCc3d/s1600/Flower+Quilt+Block+21.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzBBO_w6KPif91BZADKDqQVhArPX3sMdZmFY7exBodYvnacdDsioijuyiWTbgQU3bn6ZDQlh4kptEXloIPFqLHr9shgUHwfzROidROhsOV-q94Hchejwond-cO5lNJdRcY-QnNonkbCc3d/s1600/Flower+Quilt+Block+21.JPG" height="426" title=" 1930's flower garden quilt block tutorial" width="640" /></a></div>

Hope you enjoy making this block as much as I have. I have made all my blocks now 16 in total and have started on the sashing and sewing together. I will put some photos of the finished quilt when it's completed.<br />
<br />
Happy sewing<br />

This year I am starting much earlier. Well last night really. So I hope I have left myself plenty of time to make some. Some is better than none, right.....<br />
<br />
I went into our little town yesterday and as I walked past the local book store I saw this book in the window.It made me smile and I thought about my handmade Christmas and this was going to be perfect. In no time at all I was heading home with it under my arm.<br />

<br />
Well it was straight home kettle on and sipped my cup of tea while I looked at all the beautiful photos in the book. I have three little nieces so I hope I can get three finished by Christmas. The first one I am going to make, the one that first caught my eye, is Little Red Riding Hood.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDwdq84qY1X5zE6pBg6u7bgJjKNxLmc1ngmfANE5gzmjR7Hp7fAl9c7Hhx4BI2vP1VJrp6SzdwM0QmMnoKB7h8Vg_3WyIH877Nm-U9cQCNQVjmyfH31-_L7wW_eW2-F3pwtvGEcXtaHpUM/s1600/IMG_0498.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDwdq84qY1X5zE6pBg6u7bgJjKNxLmc1ngmfANE5gzmjR7Hp7fAl9c7Hhx4BI2vP1VJrp6SzdwM0QmMnoKB7h8Vg_3WyIH877Nm-U9cQCNQVjmyfH31-_L7wW_eW2-F3pwtvGEcXtaHpUM/s1600/IMG_0498.JPG" height="478" title="crochet doll" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
So last night when everyone went to bed I had to make a start and give it a go. I have never done any amigurumi before so was itching to have a go. I have crochet for years but have never tried this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhvnhCwDkkDpPEKTuztBKMBJrvzgxLowXKuftRyysKMXIP5BTx_6SvPWJnPXG_oJrAtowHs0EfSu6W1FmO6WMJ54-868AjYd1mD510leFF2fFFXiADpV4jsrmyDIKFwWf4o7Cnbf7emaC1/s1600/IMG_0501.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhvnhCwDkkDpPEKTuztBKMBJrvzgxLowXKuftRyysKMXIP5BTx_6SvPWJnPXG_oJrAtowHs0EfSu6W1FmO6WMJ54-868AjYd1mD510leFF2fFFXiADpV4jsrmyDIKFwWf4o7Cnbf7emaC1/s1600/IMG_0501.JPG" height="478" title="crochet doll" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The yarn that she has used in the book is not available is Australia so I am having a go with some cotton I already had. She recommends a yarn made from Acrylic and polyamide. I will see how this goes, but I may have to make my way to <a href="http://www.the-wool-inn.com.au/shop/index.php?main_page=page&id=11" target="_blank">The Wool Inn</a>. This is where I like to go and pick my yarn and the ladies in there are just gorgeous always happy to help and answer any questions.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMB_HjR_xAtrbfH1SRcD0eO915MV0WZ6i2RrhdouxkKh1qzljbhALM9SQlnE7RVOsV5wbNMx6eNk5UKuXNLhyqQKhCchXJ66mXUXkn7ZTzehwd4Y1xqmO2mM7cQz4nGdsWUf0wre_Rx-l9/s1600/IMG_0503.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMB_HjR_xAtrbfH1SRcD0eO915MV0WZ6i2RrhdouxkKh1qzljbhALM9SQlnE7RVOsV5wbNMx6eNk5UKuXNLhyqQKhCchXJ66mXUXkn7ZTzehwd4Y1xqmO2mM7cQz4nGdsWUf0wre_Rx-l9/s1600/IMG_0503.JPG" height="478" title="crochet doll" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And Look at these gorgeous little undies.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh23nsTJjvUSUzmG4KoWIwrtU1ejZfgp5YzQs0yifBhaAKF5Hj5BGLc37zGsVRDMQUkRGBghraLtE2vN_lvWXP1xSVpPMA67lAwn8brz8bi3-ycrvtyJwyXx8IEFQTENbOFrvEmXP_nlINZ/s1600/IMG_0499.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh23nsTJjvUSUzmG4KoWIwrtU1ejZfgp5YzQs0yifBhaAKF5Hj5BGLc37zGsVRDMQUkRGBghraLtE2vN_lvWXP1xSVpPMA67lAwn8brz8bi3-ycrvtyJwyXx8IEFQTENbOFrvEmXP_nlINZ/s1600/IMG_0499.JPG" height="478" title="crochet doll and undies" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The book also come with a huge number of different outfits to make for your doll. Pyjamas, overalls, raincoat, superman outfit, shoes, socks, hats, the list goes on. There is so many accessories. It is just a gorgeous book.<br />
<br />
Well I'm off to put the kettle on and continue on my little doll.<br />

At this pace it feels like I am never going to finish this farmer's Wife Quilt. But there are so many things to make and do.....<br />
<br />
But I did manage to get 2 more done when I was at the GWSMQG Sunday sewalong.<br />
<br />
And this one is my favourite so far. Its called the Country Path and it looks nothing like the one in the book, but it is exactly the same, just different fabrics. Different fabrics and different styles can just change the whole look of each block.<br />
<br />

<br />
So hopefully now the the kids are back at school and being term 4 you usually don't get called in for casual work as much maybe just maybe I will get more sewing done.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by<br />

<br />
Well I have been seeing them everywhere and I just had to have one of my own. My mind was made up when I went to my first Sunday Sewalongs with the GWSMQG. (Greater Western Sydney Modern Quilt Guild) everyone there had on sitting proudly in front of them filled with sewing goodies. That was it I was making one......<br />
<br />
You can find the pattern <a href="http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/sewing/accessory/sew-together-bag/36309" target="_blank">here</a> by <a href="http://sewdemented.wordpress.com/" target="_blank">Sew Demented</a><br />
<br />
As soon as I downloaded the pattern I knew what fabric I wanted to use. <i> Little Red Riding Hood - Riley Blake.</i> This has been sitting on my fabric shelf looking pretty for too long. It was time to cut into some of it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJa1W-QFSk4vzRYwWkgHCIp9uR1QbWKNQD6hueztkNYmdndN-BIeYi6Gng9Xu43NsDVOIwfTf9MXGgHi2QpsECtwT_D1XzMYZbRN1pzuGrOrIqZiAYAknxdHDuQfUNTFo7V_Rb4k444pB3/s1600/Sew+together+bag+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJa1W-QFSk4vzRYwWkgHCIp9uR1QbWKNQD6hueztkNYmdndN-BIeYi6Gng9Xu43NsDVOIwfTf9MXGgHi2QpsECtwT_D1XzMYZbRN1pzuGrOrIqZiAYAknxdHDuQfUNTFo7V_Rb4k444pB3/s1600/Sew+together+bag+1.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I was a little worried about the zippers, and getting the rights sides all matching and on the right side of the zipper, and it all worked out so easy, just follow the instructions, and maybe read them a few times, I did.....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5VSLEBinn0W8_2E9IyLBy9kjUz_7WKw64v7o0j9vhb3oVP9EHhc_ZkXJkTx_f4leVQcInQkS-qkQ4A0sRY578HrQHyCneyrummdv6yYStUwhgEGwLQhoyMrftE89AodVq5WdKak3Ssf4p/s1600/Sew+together+bag+5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5VSLEBinn0W8_2E9IyLBy9kjUz_7WKw64v7o0j9vhb3oVP9EHhc_ZkXJkTx_f4leVQcInQkS-qkQ4A0sRY578HrQHyCneyrummdv6yYStUwhgEGwLQhoyMrftE89AodVq5WdKak3Ssf4p/s1600/Sew+together+bag+5.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And in no time it was looking like the bag. All the pieces fall into place quite easily and I even learnt a few new techniques.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJATtq9krXpreozE3dKRpcCcqaGsg9uxwnLHJMj5xu_OTHP7fDW1HPL31WjxtOaQb8CwRF4LNLkuATD9U1UaMMRgwZeh68Qj1yDVkYLL8sLp0T8-tWBoF_fTUceXLxpqOo73QxqBHBbaLr/s1600/Sew+together+bag+6.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJATtq9krXpreozE3dKRpcCcqaGsg9uxwnLHJMj5xu_OTHP7fDW1HPL31WjxtOaQb8CwRF4LNLkuATD9U1UaMMRgwZeh68Qj1yDVkYLL8sLp0T8-tWBoF_fTUceXLxpqOo73QxqBHBbaLr/s1600/Sew+together+bag+6.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Just some straight line quilting for the outer layer. The rest went together really quickly, that I forgot to take some photos of the binding going on, I was just on such a role to get it finished.<br />

<br />
I think I zipped it and unzipped it a number of times to admire all the beautiful fabrics on the inside and all the compartments and thought about all the things I was going to store in it.<br />
<br />
Well one week on and I still haven't filled it. I just look at it and unzip it and zip it back up and have a little giggle to myself. I don't know why I just do. I think it is just so cute, or maybe it reminds me of the day I found this fabric at the Quilt show in Sydney at Darling Harbour and I did a little happy dance. I was looking for it everywhere and I didn't want to pay the huge postage costs and there it was, So I bought everything they had in the range..... yes people where looking at me as I jumped up and down like crazy..... OK stop laughing....<br />
<br />

<br />
So if you thought it looks complicated and too hard, it's not. Give it a go, I'm about to start another one with a pieced outside.<br />
<br />
<br />
Let me know if you have attempted the sew together bag and how you found it.<br />

Part of the thrill is waiting by the letter box waiting for your happy mail to come. I think I have joined three swaps just this month. Need to slow down or I'll lose track.<br />
<br />
This week this one went in the post headed overseas somewhere in the USA. It was a swap run by Heather at <a href="http://thesewingloftblog.com/" target="_blank">The Sewing Loft</a>.<br />

<br />
My partner liked lots of colour and in her mosaic of pictures she had + and x block. I have been wanting to try this block, so I thought perfect. I went through some fabrics left over from other projects and then chose some grey and light coloured fabrics for the in between bits. I wanted the + and the x to stand out.<br />

Sew Filomenahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09093920170312844940noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2261343676739829542.post-36520485083440529692014-09-17T13:36:00.001+10:002014-09-27T11:36:48.001+10:00Creative Pen Pal Swap...A few people I follow on Instagram often put up photos of things they are sending or receiving from their pen pals. I thought what a great ideas. I went looking for some online pen pal sites to join. Man O man was I bombarded with male friendship requests, a marriage proposal, a request to come over and stay while they were on holidays in Australia and lots and lots of male friendship requests. Did they not read I was after a crafty pen pal. After 3 days I had had enough and cancelled by subscription.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
To my surprise Mel over at <a href="http://www.onecraftymumma.com/2014/09/creative-pen-pal-sharing-some-of-your-letters.html" target="_blank">One Crafty Mumma</a> was holding a Pen Pal Swap. You emailed your information and she matched you up with someone. Yes I was definitely in that. So I asked for two. I asked for one at first as I didn't want to seem greedy. But then wrote back and asked for another one. So I was matched with one gorgeous lady in Australia and one beautiful girl overseas. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So I have written my first letter to both my partners and have sent them off. I know it has only been a few days but I can't wait for my happy mail...... you can also follow along on Instagram by following <span style="background-color: #fefefe; color: #222222; font-family: proxima-nova, 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;">#creativepenpalswap</span></div>

While I was out doing some shopping I started picking up some bits and pieces to use in my letter writing. I'll have to get myself a box to put things in as I find them, So I keep my eye open all the time now for things I can use for my letter writing.<br />

My folder is filling up and I love flicking through the pages looking at each of the blocks and the fabrics.<br />
<br />
So here are the next 2 blocks...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix2ZIRy42HE1Ube1-waq-dEmozpbftaCmHJoUeiWc9hMaevzYcjmZ1s9aAKH2PLO_UDlDbH-fL1LA3W2E6Dp-x0Z8Dc2VFigW3-z0rp7EfBt7UVJvBxUqc6I0SJk_sA0UEMVs-kwgNgDAs/s1600/IMG_1917.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix2ZIRy42HE1Ube1-waq-dEmozpbftaCmHJoUeiWc9hMaevzYcjmZ1s9aAKH2PLO_UDlDbH-fL1LA3W2E6Dp-x0Z8Dc2VFigW3-z0rp7EfBt7UVJvBxUqc6I0SJk_sA0UEMVs-kwgNgDAs/s1600/IMG_1917.JPG" height="426" title="Farmer's Wife quilt Block" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Block No. 18 Century of Progress</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA738y9RkU8ltTBZSsrSwCm-ZEOav8FB-_8pE8oAQnVQs3uANWaFFFg5Xby5zcIOshu90iCJe-R8PyWk2XgdlYr5XKEI9n2d7gjmB3LPZqtXldKbXgfAw1-9Rpp54EBpg2VVaUleNQIlR8/s1600/IMG_1920.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA738y9RkU8ltTBZSsrSwCm-ZEOav8FB-_8pE8oAQnVQs3uANWaFFFg5Xby5zcIOshu90iCJe-R8PyWk2XgdlYr5XKEI9n2d7gjmB3LPZqtXldKbXgfAw1-9Rpp54EBpg2VVaUleNQIlR8/s1600/IMG_1920.JPG" height="426" title="Farmer's Wife quilt Block" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
And even though this block is very simple I just love it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Block No. 29 Economy</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrYRSeIhm1G3G8VD5g1vaU1SK0AIgFofL6NjwPyVAQBoTDHt-O1Sla-ZTarCoNGnkQ353VnyTnkdZ7W5SRP89IEnqquxNRkmu50UnVqytl4bfTkJzvFRmLHRD9UHtcyPseU55h1dxYPN7g/s1600/IMG_1925.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrYRSeIhm1G3G8VD5g1vaU1SK0AIgFofL6NjwPyVAQBoTDHt-O1Sla-ZTarCoNGnkQ353VnyTnkdZ7W5SRP89IEnqquxNRkmu50UnVqytl4bfTkJzvFRmLHRD9UHtcyPseU55h1dxYPN7g/s1600/IMG_1925.JPG" height="426" title="Farmer's Wife quilt Block" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And now that I have adjusted the needle on my machine all my corners are coming out perfect. It pays to check sometimes. I thought it was me.<br />
