Dish Cloth Swap and Pattern

Over at One Crafty Mumma, Mel is running a dish cloth swap. I love making dish cloths as they are such a quick and easy project and a nice little gift too. I thought I would show you each of the dish cloths I make and give you the pattern as well.

So here is the first one I have made.

It is really easy and quick to put this one together and the best part is, it even does the border as you go. That little scalloped edge is formed as you go. So super easy. And look at that gorgeous stitch pattern. This one is one of my favourites.

And my favourite cotton to use is sugar'n  cream. Luckily a shop not very far from me stocks this beautiful yarn and I can pop in anytime I need some more.

What you will need:

  • a ball of sugar'n cream any colour ( you can easily get 2 dish cloths from one ball of yarn)
  • 3.5mm crochet hook

Instructions: using UK terms

Chain 30

Row 1:  (tr, ch2, dc) into the 4th chain from the hook. *Skip 3 chains, (2tr, ch2, dc) into the next stitch. Repeat from the * until you reach the end. Chain 2 and turn.

Row 2: (tr, ch2, dc) into the chain 2 space. *(2tr, ch2, dc) into the next chain 2 space. Repeat from the * for each remaining chain 2 space. Chain 2 and turn.

Repeat row 2 until it is square. Fasten off and weave in ends.

I hope you enjoy making this disc cloth. Let me know how you go making yours....

See you in a few days for the next dish cloth and pattern.
