A Quick Hello and My Mini Quilt Swap.....

Just thought I would say a quick hello and let you know that I am still here, just really busy. Well first it was school holidays and now some casual work. Both these things have an effect on my crafting. It just robs me of my time.

One thing I did finish in the last few weeks was the Schnitzel and Boo Mini Quilt Swap. This was so much fun to make. Here are some of the sneak peak photos I posted on Instagram.

I had so much fun choosing a pattern and then going through my fabric looking for the perfect colour combinations, and I knew she loved Bonnie and Camille fabrics so that was easy. But when it came to sewing this up; it just wasn't working. I found the pattern in a magazine, I had to make some adjustments to get 4 blocks that where decent and change the final design. I have never had so much trouble matching seams. It still came out really cute. I loved it.

Here is the final quilt. Love the binding fabric. I really loved how it looked as a binding I went back and bought another 2 meters of it. Now that should last a while.

And you can't send off a swap without putting some goodies in. I found these Australian animal fabrics and thought they would be perfect to add to my package.

This is the Mini Quilt I got from my partner. I have the perfect spot to hang it on the wall above my sewing machine.

And I received some gorgeous little gifts as well. Love the pin cushion and needle book made from selvages.

Yummy Chocolates and some loose leaf tea. My partner knows me well. Part of the swap was to stalk your partner, via their blog, Facebook page or Instagram.

I have just joined another mini quilt swap over at The Sewing Loft. Registrations are still open for one more day. So head on over and sign up, it lots of fun.

Have you joined a swap before? What did you make?
